ISSI Introduces New Family of 4Mbit and smaller SPI NOR Flash

ISSI is excited to offer a new family of SPI flash devices to address the low density market. New devices will be available starting at 256Kb to 4Mb.

ISSI’s IS25LP-E (3V) and IS25WP-E (1.8V) SPI flash series will be fully compatible to the industry standard 25-series footprint and will offer a longevity plan for the current IS25LQ (3V) and IS25WQ (1.8V) low density devices.

Devices will be offered in 3V and 1.8V with read speeds up to 104Mhz.

ISSI Now Sampling 8Gb DDR4 DRAM

ISSI is now shipping its new 8Gb DDR4 to customers. 8Gb DDR4, x16 wide is shipping in Commercial, Industrial & Automotive Grade. 8Gb DDR4, x8 wide is scheduled to begin shipping in September.

ISSI 8Gb DDR4 DRAM

Speed grades for initial samples are 2400MT/s (-083T) and 2666MT/s (-075V), which is backward compatible with DDR4-2133, and lower speeds. Faster speed grades such as 2933 and 3200 are planned in the next few months.

Lattice Certus-NX Redefines Low Power, High I/O Count FPGAs

Leveraging the tremendous advantages of Lattice’s new Nexus platform – the industry’s first low power FPGA platform to use a 28-nm FD-SOI process technology – Certus-NX offers industrial and automotive designers best-in-class power savings, up to a 3x smaller form factor, higher reliability, and instant-on performance.

And to help designers meet rapidly changing connectivity and performance needs, the Certus-NX adds PCIe and Ethernet chip-to-chip connectivity.

Features include:

  • Up to 39K logic cells, 2.9 Mb embedded memory, 56 18 x 18 multipliers, 192 programmable I/O, one lane of 5 Gbps PCIe, two lanes of 1.25 Gbps SGMII, two ADCs (each 12-bit, 1 MSPS).
  • Packages as small as 6×6 mm, and in ball-pitch options of 0.5 and 0.8 mm.

Additionally, Lattice released version 2.1 of the Radiant design software, which includes support for Certus-NX and SystemVerilog to make it easier than ever for developers to build applications based on the latest FPGA technology.

ISSI Expands Serial Flash offering to Include xSPI Compliant x8 Serial Devices (Octal Flash)

ISSI has expanded its Serial NOR and NAND flash portfolio to include xSPI compliant devices (Octal Flash). The new xSPI, stands for expanded SPI (xSPI), and is an electrical interface standard from the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association.

Products complying with the xSPI standard ensure compatibility of these high-performance x8 serial devices to chipset manufacturers who have designed with this standard.

The IS25LX is a high performance xSPI family designed for operation at 2.5/3V and can reach a read throughput of 266MB/s for instant-on applications.

The IS25WX is a 1.8V family of xSPI devices and increases this performance to 400MB/s.

The IS25WX256 is the first device available from the xSPI family & is a 1.8V 256Mbit x8 wide Serial flash.
